  1. Autumnal Color Palette

Embrace the rich colors of fall by choosing a color palette that reflects the season. Colors like deep burgundy, burnt orange, rustic reds, and earthy tones are perfect to incorporate into your wedding décor, bridesmaid dresses, and floral arrangements to create a cohesive atmosphere.

2. Seasonal Florals

Flowers like dahlias, mums, sunflowers, and eucalyptus are a few in-season blooms that are perfect for your centerpieces, bouquets, and boutonnieres. Not only will they add a touch of autumnal charm, but since they are readily available during this time they will add some charm to your budget too.

3. Warm Invitations

Set the mood right from the beginning by using invitations that showcase fall motifs like leaves, pumpkins, or acorns. Use warm colors, rustic paper, and calligraphy to give your invites a cozy feel.

4. Outdoor Venue

Fall is the perfect time for an outdoor wedding thanks to mild temps and beautiful foliage. Gardens, vineyards, or rustic barns can take full advantage of the beautiful fall season’s beauty.

5. Cozy Blankets & Throws

Keep your guests comfortable and add a touch of beauty to your décor by providing them with blankets or throws in your wedding colors.

6. Hot Beverage Station

Nothing says fall like a hot drink bar! Set up a station with warm apple cider, mulled wine, and a variety of teas and coffees. Cute mugs or cups with your name and wedding date make the perfect favors to accompany the setup.

7. Seasonal Menu

Craft a menu that features the best culinary delights fall has to offer. Dishes with butternut squash, pumpkin, apples, and hearty meats like roast turkey or lamb are a great addition. Don’t forget the pies for dessert! Apple, pecan, and pumpkin are delicious options.

8. Candlelight & Fairy Lights

As wedding planners in Illinois, our favorite way to create a magical atmosphere is with candles and/or fairy lights. The soft glow adds a warm and romantic ambiance to your reception and makes it feel so intimate.

9. Fall Favors

Send your guests home with thoughtful fall-themed favors like mini jars of honey, personalized candles, or small bags of caramel apples. These little tokens of appreciation will leave a big impression on your guests, and vendors! 😉
