Easy tips for an eco-friendly wedding, birthday, anniversary party, and every special event from Events by L

It’s no secret that Events by L loves a celebration! From Birthday Parties to Weddings – we live for a good party! One downside to a spectacular special occasion is all of the waste and potentially negative effects it can have on our environment. In honor of Earth Day, we are sharing some easy tips and tricks for throwing an eco-friendly event, no matter what the occasion!

Electronic Invitations, Evites, Party Invitations, eco-friendlyGo Green Tip #1

Skip the paper invites that will eventually become another layer of the ever growing landfills. Electronic invitations were once considered a major faux pas, but today they are becoming an ever growing trend to reduce waste for eco-chic weddings and other special events.

Bonus – They’re budget friendly, as well as time saving since you don’t have to handwrite each individual invite.

Evite and Punchbowl offer a great variety of designs that’ll have you covered for every occasion.

If you absolutely want to mail out a formal invitation, there are some great ‘green’ options for you as well. We LOVE seed paper invites and Botanical Paper Works has some beautiful options! Their handmade paper allows your invitation recipients to plant the paper in a pot or outside in the garden and the seeds embedded in the paper will germinate and grow into plants. That’s a gift in and of itself – not only to them, but also whomever lays eyes on the beautiful plants that grow. What a great memory to give your loved ones!

Go Green Tip #3

There are some really great environmentally friendly companies out there like Minted that use 100% Recycled Paper, which is another great alternative.
